Themes of the Conference

The rapid advancements of communication technologies, smart devices and cloud services enable innovative applications in all business sectors, including retail, homes, health care, transportation, finance, public utilities, and education. The Internet of Things (IoTs) offer advanced connectivity of devices, systems, and services that go beyond machine-to-machine communications and cover a variety of applications. Connected devices have massive potential to deliver value, and enhance our quality of life. Although the technology advancements provide new business opportunities, there remain challenges on standardization, security, and privacy, etc.

The ICICS 2016 offers an opportunity to researchers to present their novel designs, theories, operating prototypes, and research results. Topics covered in the conference include, but are not limited to:

  • Smart homes
  • Smart cities and smart transportations
  • Smart manufacturing
  • Connected wearable technologies
  • Standards, protocols, and regulations of connected devices
  • IoT industrial deployment experiences
  • Big Data and IoT analytics
  • Cloud Computing for IoT applications
  • Prototyping connected applications and embedded systems

Conference language

  • The Conference will be conducted in English.
  • Papers submitted for presentation must be in English.

Conference Publication

  • Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings
  • Extended versions of selected papers will be published in a book
  • Authors of those selected papers should also send us the source files and pictures, apart from the final version of the conference papers

Paper Submissions:

  • Number of papes permitted: at least 4 pages, at most 6 pages, in IEEE double column format
  • To email address: icics@ouhk.edu.hk
  • Mail server might have a file size limit of 3 MBytes
  • Excellent papers will be selected and collected in the form of book chapters for a book publication.

Last Date of Registration for Authors:

  • October 20, 2016 (Thursday)
  • An author is allowed to register for at most two accepted papers
  • Please notify us if unforseen events occur which cause the delay of the registration

Paper Format

Constraints on Submissions

  • A submitted paper has to have at least 4 pages, and at most 6 pages.
  • Please submit the papers to the email address: icics@ouhk.edu.hk
    • Due to the setting of our mail server, there is a an upper bound on the size of a file attachment of 3 MBytes.
  • Submission of the papers: by September 15, 2016 (final) September 1, 2016.
  • Notification of acceptance: September 30, 2016.

Final Version of An Accepted Paper

  • The final version of an accepted paper should follow the regular IEEE double column paper format, as indicated above.
  • Page limits for each final accepted paper: 4 to 6 pages
  • Submission of final paper: October 15, 2016.
  • Author(s) must register to attend the conference to guarantee the appearance of the paper.
  • Author(s) are suggested to register by October 20, 2016.
